Wonderful mid-century park scene of city people enjoying summer time. Fantastic use of color; small pops of bright colors jolt the calm greens and browns to create a dynamic scene.
Lars Florén was a talented artist who practiced across many mediums: oils, watercolor, chalk and tapestry. His work can be viewed at several museums including the National Museum in Stockholm, The Museum of Modern Art (Stockholm) and the Art Museum of Västerås.
The painting is missing a small corner piece of canvas in the upper right hand corner and the tear camouflaged with paint. It is otherwise in excellent condition with no flaking or crazing. The frame is a gorgeous water-gilded handmade frame in good condition. The plaque on the frame denotes the painting was a gift.
